At Fairway School, we believe that every child has the potential to be a leader. Our pupil leadership programme provides a wide range of opportunities – including Head Students, House Captains, Lunch Leaders, School Council, and more – enabling children to play an active role in the life of our school.
Leadership is taken seriously here. Our pupils wear their responsibilities with pride, acting as positive role models and ambassadors for our school values. Whether they are guiding their peers, representing the pupil voice, or helping to make school life even better, our young leaders demonstrate commitment, maturity, and enthusiasm.
Through these experiences, children develop key skills such as teamwork, communication, responsibility, and resilience – preparing them not only to contribute meaningfully now, but also to become the confident leaders of the future.
Meet our Head Students!
Our Head Students are proud ambassadors for Fairway School, representing our values both within the school and in the wider community.
They lead our School Council, ensuring every child has a voice and the opportunity to contribute to school life. As role models, they listen carefully to their peers, share ideas with staff, and help shape positive changes across the school. Their leadership, responsibility, and enthusiasm make them excellent representatives of our pupil voice.

Our Junior Travel Ambassadors (JTAs) are responsible for leading the way with travel events such as walk to school week, the big pedal and road safety initiatives.
As part of the role, our JTAs regularly meet with our school council to propose ways we can support sustainable travel; focusing on being as active as possible.
We currently hold Gold Level Accreditation!

Bonjour et bienvenue à Fairway.
Hello and welcome to Fairway.
Our new team of French Ambassadors consists of selected pupils from Years 3 to 6. They support the learning of French in class, which takes place in Key Stage 2 and they take the lead in special events. As part of the role, the team meets once a fortnight with the MFL Lead teacher to discuss possible new events and ways to raise the profile of French throughout the school. If you want to know anything about how French is taught at Fairway or what future events we have planned, the French Ambassadors will be happy to talk to you.
Dance Squad

Fairway Dance Squad, selected from Years 4, 5 and 6 and love everything about Dance. We meet every Friday after school to rehearse and we perform for the school and visitors at various times throughout the year. We also perform annually at Barnet’s Dance Festival which takes place at the Artsdepot Theatre in North Finchley. If you want to know anything about Dance, we are the children to ask.
